IBM Data Server Client – DB2COPY1 is IBM’s full-featured client package for connecting applications and tools to Db2 databases. It installs the runtime libraries and drivers needed for common interfaces—such as ODBC/CLI, JDBC, and .NET—and includes the Db2 Command Line Processor (CLP) and utilities for cataloging databases, configuring connections, and running administrative scripts.
On Windows, DB2COPY1 is the default “client copy” name assigned to this installation, enabling multiple Db2 client copies to coexist side by side. The active copy determines which drivers and command-line tools your system uses.
Typical uses include developing and running Db2 client applications, performing remote administration, and establishing secure (SSL/TLS) connections to Db2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, as well as Db2 for z/OS and Db2 for i with appropriate connectivity. This package is a client only; it does not include the Db2 server. Developer: IBM.
